Two Traditional Approaches
The majority of companies involved in the search trade can be categorized into one of two structures: a recruiting agency or an executive search firm. The two have contrasting business methodologies and offer different advantages to clients. There are two significant differences: the structure of the organizations and the method in which each receives payment.
Recruiting agencies work on assignments from beginning to end. They have to handle three separate, yet all equally important parts of the business. They first have to develop business, then they must find candidates, and eventually close and execute the deal. The individual agents which comprise recruiting agencies are paid on a commission basis, so they jump around quickly looking to see where things are hot and where the deals will be made. They are not dedicated to customer service and often look for the quick buck. The agencies themselves are paid on a contingency basis, meaning that they only receive payment when a candidate is placed.
Executive search firms are retained, meaning they are paid in advance and retained for the services pending. They offer a more traditional service approach. The client's needs are handled and discussed in a more effective manner as the company is organized by function. Individuals are slated to perform various steps of the search process thus helping to ensure client satisfaction.
Denson & Associates has taken the best that the contingency agencies and executive search firms offer and combined them to form the present day business process of Denson & Associates. We are dedicated to helping your company hire the best personnel, in the least amount of time, with minimal or no distraction to your business. We offer the benefits of a traditional service business, similar to an executive search firm, on a contingency payment method. You don't pay us until we perform, but we still treat you as if we have been retained.
